Visitor Access Guide for Forest Adventures

Our team is here to support you in planning a comfortable and enjoyable visit. If you have any questions about access or would like to talk through your visit in advance, our team is happy to help.

Forest Adventures is a self-drive attraction located in the Ludlow Tuart Forest, just 20 minutes from Busselton or 25 minutes from Bunbury.

  • Drop-off zone available near the entrance
  • Step-free access from the car park via compacted gravel and limestone pathways

The check-in area is accessible and staffed by trained team members who can assist with planning your session.

Carer and Companion Card holders

  • We accept the national Companion Card.
  • We offer free admission to a carer or companion of an individual with a valid Companion Card.

Trained service dogs are welcome at Forest Adventures. As the site is located within a bushland environment, pets are not permitted.

  • Please call ahead on (08) 9757 7411 and provide proof of service dog certification on the day of your visit.
  • Assistance dogs must wear an identifying harness or vest.
  • For the safety of all animals, pets are not permitted on the grounds, including the car park, and should not be left unattended in vehicles.

The Forest Adventures experience is set within natural bushland and includes six high ropes courses of varying difficulty. The site is suitable for spectators and companions with a range of access needs, but the high ropes activities themselves require full independent mobility.

Ground-level access

  • Step-free access to the check-in desk, toilets and seating areas.
  • Compact limestone and woodchip pathways, with some uneven terrain.
  • Viewing areas available throughout the site for non-participants.
  • Signage and induction areas are presented in plain English.

Adventure course access:

  • All participants must be independently mobile. Physical assistance or mobility aids cannot be used on the course.
  • Training is provided before beginning any course.
  • A continuous belay system ensures safety and independence throughout.
  • Staff are available on the ground to assist if needed, but cannot accompany guests on the course.

Accessible public toilets are located near the main office and are clearly signed.

  • Step-free entry and wide door access.
  • Accessible toilets with grab rails and sufficient turning space.
  • Baby change tables are located within the accessible toilet facilities.
  • Facilities are clearly signed and located near the main ticket office.

We recommend preparing for physical activity in a bushland environment.

  • Enclosed, flat-soled shoes are essential: no crocs or sandals.
  • Comfortable clothing suited to climbing and outdoor weather conditions.
  • Sunscreen, insect repellent and a water bottle are recommended.
  • Sessions run for 2.5 hours, but participants can rest or finish at any time.

Forest Adventures can be stimulating, particularly during school holidays and weekends. We aim to create a supportive environment for visitors with sensory sensitivities.

  • Quietest times are weekday mornings.
  • One-on-one inductions are available on request but must be prearranged. Please call ahead on (08) 9757 7411.
  • The induction is visual and practical, and includes a practice course. The practice course is a required part of the experience but can be completed as many times as needed to build confidence and skills.
  • Forest Adventures includes quiet natural areas for rest breaks.
  • A Social Story is available to support pre-visit planning.

We aim to support guests who are blind, have low vision, or are hard of hearing.

For visitors who are blind or have low vision

  • Large-print, high-contrast signage is available.
  • Participants may bring a companion on the course for navigation assistance (Companion Card accepted with advance booking).
  • Belay and obstacle systems are tactile and physical in nature.

For visitors who are Deaf or hard of hearing

  • Induction is visual and supported by signage.
  • One-on-one inductions are available on request but must be prearranged, please call ahead on (08) 9757 7411.
  • Audio is not essential once on course, but participants must be able to see staff or have a companion who can assist with communication.

The site is fully outdoors and has clear evacuation procedures. All ground-level evacuation routes are accessible.

  • Emergency muster points are clearly signed and step-free.
  • Evacuation routes do not involve stairs.
  • Exits are a minimum of 900 mm wide and accessible.
  • All staff are trained in emergency response and first aid.
  • A defibrillator and full first aid kit are available on site.
  • Guests requiring additional support in an emergency are encouraged to notify staff at check-in.
