Birds of Prey Encounters

11:00am - 11:45am
2:00pm - 2:45pm

Explore lush native bushland and encounter over 50 captivating birds of prey. Only 5 minutes from Margaret River centre.

During our twice-daily Birds of Prey Encounters, you will learn about the birds' natural behaviours and unique sensory abilities used to track and catch prey - you can even have your photograph taken with an owl!

What to expect

Capes Raptor Centre is Western Australia’s largest bird of prey sanctuary, dedicated to the care and rehabilitation of injured, orphaned, or displaced raptors. We provide lifelong sanctuary for birds that cannot return to the wild, while rehabilitating and releasing many others each year.

Enjoy a 1km bushland walk among native flora, where you can view aviaries housing our resident eagles, hawks, falcons, and owls. In spring, the trail is perfect for spotting wildflowers and orchids.

Your visit also includes the chance to meet these magnificent birds up close and learn from passionate wildlife experts. Choose from two unique experiences:

  • Bird of Prey Encounter – Included with general admission, this encounter runs daily at 11am and 2pm.
  • VIP Owl Encounter – A private, behind-the-scenes experience offering exclusive time with one of our resident owls.
