Lake Cave
A one-hour guided tour takes students into a pristine chamber beneath the karri forest. The journey begins with a descent through an ancient doline (sinkhole), where a staircase winds through a sunken forest to reach the cave.
Inside, guides use lighting to highlight delicate features and share stories about the cave’s formation and history. Students will encounter the rare “Suspended Table” formation – a one-of-a-kind structure that appears to hover above the reflective lake. Lake Cave is also the region’s most active ‘dripping’ cave, where droplets fall from stalactites to create ripples across the still water.
