How can a tiny raindrop possibly be the architect of the cavernous, cathedral-like chambers you see today at Jewel Cave – the largest show cave in Western Australia?
Their secret strength lies in time, tenacity and some clever science. Drop by drop, drip by drip, over 1.5 million years, raindrops have carved and sculpted more than 200 known caves and karst features between the great capes of Australia’s South West, Cape Naturaliste and Cape Leeuwin. And there are likely to be many more we don’t yet know about.
