Wander along the Ancient Lands Experience pathway through native bushland to the entrance of the majestic Ngilgi Cave, where you can explore at your own pace.
A breathtaking journey through time begins above ground along the Ancient Lands Experience, a winding pathway through the native bushland of Yallingup where interactive installations reveal the cultural and geological story of this remarkable landscape. From here, visitors descend into Ngilgi Cave and explore its spectacular underground world at their own pace, discovering majestic stalactites, stalagmites, delicate helictites and beautifully coloured shawls shaped over thousands of years.
What to expect
The self-guided experience begins as you wander through the Ancient Lands pathways. As you explore, you’ll learn about:
- Cultural connections to the land;
- The local flora and fauna; and,
- The formation of the pristine caves beneath the Leeuwin-Naturaliste limestone ridge.
Guides are positioned throughout the experience and are on hand to assist you and share their knowledge.
The entire above and below-ground experience takes around 1.5 hours. If you opt for above-ground exploration only, allow around 30 minutes. There is also a nature-based play area for children at the final stop.
