What to expect

Using actual fossil casts, extant marsupial skulls and life-size replicas, your students are transported back 50,000 years and introduced to amazing animals such as the marsupial lion ‘Thylacoleo’, and the enormous ‘Zygomaturus’.

At Lake Cave, students can join in a ‘bone dig’ theatrette and learn about the process involved in conducting a palaeontological dig.

The workshop continues at Mammoth Cave. A private tour will introduce students to three megafauna species discovered here for the first time – in the ‘time capsule’ that has preserved more than ten thousand fossil remains of ancient animals.
